The only story that I remember from my years at Bryan was from freshman year study hall. It was 3rd period with Mr.Beckman. Beckman had caught 3 kids violating his study hall rules and he was hell bent on making an example out of them.
One kid has his hat on in study hall. The second, was eating a bag of chips (I still don't understand whose bright idea vending machines in school it was). The final kid had a can of pepsi. So Mr. Beckman collected all of these items, and very loudly called for everyone's attention.
Mr. Beckman then points out the students who broke the rules. Then pours the chips into the hat and set the Pepsi on a table (the thick ones in the cafeteria). He then proceeds to climb onto the table and says "This is what happens when you eat, drink and wear a hat in MY study hall". He then proceeds to jump on the table. The table broke exactly in half and Beckman fell right on his a**! The entire study hall erupted in applause and laughter. Mr. Beckman was not laughing.
I think I will remember this story forever. There was even a picture of the broken table in the 1990 Crusader yearbook. |
